The Objectives of the Assembly
The purpose of the gathering of the believers is to follow scriptural injunctions (Acts 2:42)
John 5:24 "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.
STATEMENT OF FAITH
We Believe:

1. In the Scriptures, Old and New Testament, as the inspired Word of God, which are entirely trustworthy, and without error in the original documents. They are the complete revelation of God’s will for salvation of people and the divine and final authority for all Christian faith and life. 2 Tim. 3:16

2. In one God, Almighty, Creator of all things, holy and eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. He is gracious, merciful, compassionate, steadfast in love and also the righteous Judge of all. John 1:1-32, Matt.3:16:17

3. In the Lord Jesus Christ, true God and true Man, who was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary in His incarnation. He lived a sinless life and died on the cross as a perfect sacrifice for our sins. His sacrifice was substitutionary and representative. He was buried and rose bodily from the dead. He ascended into heaven, was exalted by the Father and now ministers as our High Priest and Advocate. Matt.1:18-23, Heb.7:25-27

4. In the Holy Spirit, co-equal with the Father and the Son, who glorifies the Lord Jesus Christ, convicts people of sin, regenerates the believing sinner, and indwells all Christians. He guides, instructs, empowers, and gives gifts to believers for godly living and for service in building up the body of Christ. Gifts are given to all Christians. All believers are responsible to Him for their use of gifts in service for God, which are given for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, and for the edifying of the body of Christ and for the day to day functioning of the assembly. We believe that men and women have been created equally and have equal value in the eyes of God. Men and women have different roles in life and different positions in the church, both being equally important and necessary. We believe in observing/practicing biblical headship as taught in the scriptures. John.14:15-17, 1 Cor.12:4-11, 1 Cor 11:3-16

5.That every member of the human race, which was created in the image and likeness of God, has sinned and is guilty before a holy God. Rom.3:23

6. That salvation is provided through the death and resurrection of Christ and is the only ground for a sinner’s justification and acceptance by God. All who receive the Lord Jesus by faith are redeemed by His blood and are regenerated by the Holy Spirit. They become children of God and have eternal life. The Holy Spirit indwells the believer, who is sealed until the day of redemption and is empowered to live a Godly life. Acts.4:12, John.1:12-13, 1 Cor.6:19

7.That the universal church began with the descent of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost and is composed of all true believers in the Lord Jesus Christ. These believers are united to Him and to one another by the indwelling Spirit. This means that the church as a whole is not an organization, but a living organism, described in Scripture as the “Body of Christ”. Acts.2:1-4, 1Cor.12:12-14, 27

8. In two Christian ordinances; Baptism and the Lord’s Supper (communion). Baptism by immersion signifies that the believer, having died with Christ, is buried with Him in baptism and also is raised with Christ to walk in newness of life. The Lord’s Supper is a memorial feast, instituted by the Lord Himself exclusively for his own. In the observance of this ordinance, believers remember Him; until He comes; they function as worshipping priests before God. Matt.28:19, Luke.22:19-20, 1 Cor.11:23-26

9. That every true child of God possesses eternal life, and being justified, sanctified and sealed with the Holy Spirit, is safe and secure for all eternity. However, a Christian can, through sin, lose his fellowship, joy, power, testimony and reward, and incur God’s discipline. Relationship is eternal, being established by spiritual rebirth; fellowship, however, is dependent upon obedience. John.3:16, 1 Cor.3:16, 1 John 1:5-9

10.That the personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ to translate His church is imminent; an event that concludes the present age of grace. There will be a final resurrection of the saved and of the lost; of the saved unto eternal life, and of the lost unto eternal and conscious judgment. Christ will then deliver up the Kingdom of God to the Father, in order that the Triune God may be all in all. Acts.1:9-11, John.5:26-29, 1.Cor.15:24-27
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
Some Guiding Principles
Fellowship
Believers who wish to be received into fellowship with the assembly are interviewed by at least two elders. If they have a clear confession of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as personal Saviour, subscribe to the statement of faith and are godly in their walk, they are announced to the assembly at the Lord's
Supper meeting one week in advance of reception.
Baptism
Believers who wish to be baptized will be interviewed by at least two elders as to their confession of personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and this being satisfactory, arrangements for baptizing them will proceed without delay.
Baptism and reception into fellowship may be simultaneous, provided that it is announced to the assembly as in the procedure for reception outlined above.
Fellowship Ceased
Believers cease to be associated with the assembly fellowship for reasons such as listed below;
A) They move to another district and therefore are transferred by a letter or commendation (Rom. 16:1-2; Acts 18:27)
B) They may be called home to heaven.
C) They may withdraw voluntarily.
D) They may be asked to withdraw as a matter of discipline for moral sin or doctrinal error (1 Cor.5:7-13; Rom. 16:17-18)
E) They may be absent for prolonged periods of time, in which case active fellowship has ceased.
Marriage
We believe that marriage was instituted by God, and that it is to be between one man and one woman, and it is to be a life-long commitment. God created man and woman to be inseparably joined together in marriage. (Gen. 2:20-24)
The Lord's Supper
See article 8 in the statement of Faith. The Lord's Supper Meeting is held each Sunday. This service is not controlled or organized by one individual. It is neither elaborate nor ritualistic. This does not mean that it is without spiritual order or pattern. The meeting takes the form of spontaneous expressions of worship in hymns, prayers and the reading and expounding of the scriptures by those men who are moved by the Holy Spirit, while the women worship in silence.
The one loaf typifies the body of Christ (Luke 22:19). "Take, eat, this is my body given for you." It also expresses the unity of the church (1 Cor.10:17) "For we being many are one bread and one body."
The wine typifies Christ's shed blood (Matt. 26:28). "For this is my blood of the new testament which is shed of many fo the remission of sins."
After the giving of thanks the loaf is broken and passed from one to another among the believers. Similarly, the wine is passed in cups.
Church Government
1. The assembly shall not be subject to any outside ecclesiastical authority, but to God alone.
2. The Congregation of believers in fellowhsip shall not become part of any sect or denomination. They shall, however, recognize the oneness of the body of Christ (Jn.17:21-23) and extend a hearty fellowhip to any believer of like precious faith, loving all children of God. "That in every place call upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, both theirs and ours." (1 Cor.1:2)
3. Elders (presbytery) are responsible to guide the assembly in spiritual matters (1Peter 5:2-3) as well as physical and financial matters. Development of an elder comes through the Holy Spirit (Acts 20:28). The Holy Spirit raises him up and he is readily recognized by his qualifications (1Tim.3:1-7; Titus 1:6-9), and as he performs his duty (1Peter 5:1-3). The assembly and fellow elders will recognize their Holy Spirit appointment and esteem them (1Thess. 5:12-13). As God develops elders, these should be readily recognized by the elders who are already performing their duties and should welcome same into their position.
